Reaching a high level of play is not possible if you don’t work the right way in all areas of the game. Our goal is to help them by teaching them a working method that allows them to progress in their game in the short, medium and long term.

The UGPM method is a constant cycle with the following phases:

1. INFORMATION COLLECTION

We try to have as much information as possible regarding the player, his game and his future plans so that decision-making is more effective. In this sense we collect:

Initial questionnaire
Statistics in competition using SPIDER APP
Measurable Long Game, Short Game, and Putting Performance Drills
video analysis
3D analysis of ball flight and impact data using Trackman

2. IDENTIFY STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

Based on the information collected and the player’s feelings, we identify the strengths and weaknesses in their game.

In this phase of the cycle, golf players must understand the physical and technical reasons that make them perform better or worse in the different areas of the game and how to correct them.

3. TRAINING PLAN

It is the daily work to be done to bring the player closer to his maximum potential.

A good training plan must cover 3 key points:

1.REPETITIVE OR BLOCKED PRACTICE

Exercises or drills in which the player works on technical movements, sensations or skills that he needs to improve to progress in his game.

2. DEVELOPMENT AND ACQUISITION OF NEW SKILLS

Golf is a game that requires very diverse skills such as controlling the distance or flight of the ball, sending the ball far, correctly interpreting the slopes of the Green, strategy…

These skills must be included in the plan and trained daily. Usually the player tends to spend too much time perfecting his swing, forgetting this part of the training.

3. PERFORMANCE AND COMPETITION EXERCISES

You have to come to the competition prepared to give 100%.

The best way to do this is as part of the training to include measurable exercises that are as similar as possible to the situations that we will find in the field.

In the end, the improvement process is a constant competition against oneself.

At the end of the cycle, we take stock and start again with new challenges, drills and skill development since the process of improving golf never ends.

High-level players arrive at the University Golf Program Málaga from all over the world.
