On the 12th, 13th and 14th of December, the third round of the UGP Tour WAGR 2025-26<\/b><\/a> circuit was held at the challenging Montecastillo course in Jerez. Despite forecasts of adverse weather, the tournament went ahead and participants were able to enjoy the high standard of play.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The first day dawned cool and breezy, setting the stage for a difficult day ahead in which the players would have to bring their best game to battle the course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On the men’s side, the young player from Sotogrande, Mart\u00edn Cervera<\/strong>, was the only one able to beat the course, carding a 71, while Mario Enguita from Aragon and Jos\u00e9 Manuel Fern\u00e1ndez, a UGP player, performed well, both carding par for the course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On the women’s side, UGP player Sara Moreno took the lead with a magnificent round of 73 strokes, closely followed by Adriana Vigon<\/strong> from Madrid with 74 strokes and Luna Valencia from Murcia with 75, standing out from the rest of the players.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On Saturday, light rain accompanied the participants during the early hours of the day, but once it stopped raining, the absence of wind and the rise in temperature made it an extraordinary day for golf.<\/p>\n

The best thing about the second day was that both the men’s and women’s categories were very closely matched, promising an exciting final day to determine the winners in both categories.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The men’s leaderboard was led by Iv\u00e1n Enguita<\/strong> after a magnificent round of 70 strokes and Jos\u00e9 Manuel Fern\u00e1ndez, who kept up the pace. Six players within five strokes of each other going into the final day on such a demanding course from the tee promised a very interesting final day with many contenders for the title.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On the women’s side, the top three continued to demonstrate their level and maintained their distance from the rest of the participants. For the final day, Sara Moreno would start with a 3-stroke lead over Luna Valencia<\/strong> and 4 over Adriana Vigon, so everything was still to be decided on Sunday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Sunday dawned with clear skies and bright sunshine, which accompanied the players throughout the final round.<\/p>\n

The men’s category seemed to be controlled by Iv\u00e1n Enguita from Arag\u00f3n, who played very solidly until the 13th hole, where a triple bogey changed everything and opened the door for his pursuers. The first to finish was Eladio P\u00e9rez from M\u00e1laga, who took the lead at the clubhouse with a round of 70, but this was not enough to secure the victory, leaving him tied for second place with Mart\u00edn Cervera, who finished the round with a par.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Finally, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, a player from UGP, with birdies on the 16th and 17th, ended up taking the victory, retaining the title he won last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In the women’s category, the three contenders for the title kept the excitement going until the end, reaching the 18th hole with Sara Moreno two strokes ahead of Luna Valencia and Adriana Vigon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The UGP player, Sara Moreno<\/strong>, ended up winning and leading the championship from start to finish, demonstrating great consistency in her game throughout the weekend. Second place went to Luna Valencia and third to Adriana Vigon, with all three completing a great tournament.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
