On Sunday, September 28, we concluded the first tournament of the UGP Tour WAGR 2025-26, at Baviera Golf, a course that offered three days of exciting competitive action, with a bit of wind on the final day to test the players.
One more season, we continue to strengthen the University Golf Program Málaga tour, providing young golf players the opportunity to compete at a high level, work on their game, and keep progressing.
The competition started strong with Raúl Aliaga (UGP Málaga), who shot 71, and José Manuel Fernández (UGP Málaga). Another favorite, Benjamin Van Braak, closely followed with 72. In the women’s category, the two favorites Sara Moreno (UGP Málaga) and Luna Valencia (El Valle Golf Resort) both scored 74, keeping the weekend wide open.
Saturday belonged to Benjamin Van Braak and Eladio Dano (Cabopino Golf), who posted rounds of 68 and 69, demonstrating solid and aggressive play and setting up an exciting battle for Sunday. Among the women, Luna Valencia and Alejandra Cervera (UGP Málaga) stood out with 77 each, while Sara Moreno had a challenging day, leaving Luna with a clear advantage heading into the final round.
The final day brought some wind and plenty of excitement. In the men’s category, Benjamin Van Braak and Eladio Dano closed with 71 and 68 strokes, respectively, providing a close contest that ultimately tipped in Benjamin’s favor in the final holes. In the women’s category, the standout was Sara Moreno (UGP Málaga), who delivered an impressive 69, reducing Luna Valencia’s lead, but not enough to overtake her, proving that consistency is key in this sport.
