Our mission is to help those players who aspire to develop a career in golf while obtaining a top-level university education. All of this in a privileged environment for living and playing golf like Málaga

UGP IS PROUDLY SUPPORTED BY THE R&A OF ST. ANDREWS

The R&A has long supported college and student golf, helping players develop while at university. In 2015, UGP was the first university golf program, outside the United Kingdom to be included in its Golf Development Program in which a total of 17 universities participate. Since then, more than 30 students have received scholarships along with direct support for the program

Since 2019, UGP has signed up and committed to the Women in Golf Charter to promote the career in golf of female players and women in all aspects of the golf industry

HISTORY

SINCE 2014, UGP HAS CONOLIDATED AS A REFERENCE TOP UNIVERSITY GOLF PROGRAM IN EUROPE

2014-2015

UGP started with a national college squad formed by 4 student golfers studying at the University of Malaga. In its second season 2015-2016, the squad was composed by 10 players from different nationalities

2016-2017

UGP launched two additional academic programs: the GAP year and the Golf Management, consolidating its academic offer for international student-golfers

2018-2019

UGP continued expanding academically and introducing online programs, becoming a reference in Europe with an accumulated of 70 players from 20 nationalities. Facilities are upgraded in a partnership with Miguel Angel Jimenez Golf Academy and Parador de Malaga Golf

2020-2021

A new milestone is achieved with the launching of the UGP Tour hosting 6 events in the Costa del Sol. In addition, in March 2021, we collaborate with the R&A for the Student Tour series venue at Parador de Malaga Golf

2022-2023

Receiving players from the Middle East and Africa for the first time, the GAP program is consolidated as a reference within the UGP team

The UGP Scholarship Program 2022-2026 is launched and two Spanish college players joined the team that season

2023-2024

Our players are once again proclaimed University Champions of Spain. The 2022-26 scholarship program incorporates two new players into the university team. We are initiating an expansion strategy, maintaining our mission, vision, and values, and in collaboration with Metrix Golf and the Zaudín Golf Club, UGP Sevilla begins with 4 players
