On October 26 we were present at the Sotogrande International Young Talents Trophy 2018 organized by Jason Floyd Golf Academy at Almenara Golf Club (Cádiz, Andalusia). The tournament was developed in 3 days and UGPM was represented by 7 players of which 4 passed the court after 36 holes.

The competitors found themselves with a very demanding field, not only due to their narrow fairways and strategic holes but also due to the speed of their greens that were in a very good condition. To these playing conditions we must add the windy weather that made it difficult to achieve lower scores.

The best result of UGPM was a second position for the great player Esperanza Serrano, also known as ¨Hopie¨, in the ladies category. Despite her first two rounds she did not give up, passed the cut and present a score under par of 71 shots in the final round.

Note the great performance of our player Daniel Barrios that despite he could not close the tournament continues surprising us with his golf and we are sure that we will soon see their successes on the field.

Congratulations Jason Floyd Golf Academy for the organization and Almenara Golf Club for the excellent state of the field. UGPM technical team and players felt welcome in the event.

The next event in the 2018-19 competition calendar will be the Puerta de Hierro National Cup, which will take place from 1 to 4 November at the Barcelona Golf Club, home club of our player Pau Hernandez, who will participate in the tournament with Andrea Gobbato and Alejandro Nimo.
